For over 20 years, COOS has had a companion parish in La Gloria, Cuba. We support this church with prayers, gifts, and visits. Although the US government does not allow tourist visits to Cuba, church members can visit for religious purposes, and COOS sends travelers to Cuba at least once a year. When in Cuba, we visit parishioners, attend services, and receive the love of the people. Our goal is to establish relationship and to rebuild the historic Episcopal Church in La Gloria. Money for rebuilding has been donated by a COOS family; however, securing various building permits takes year so progress is slow. In the meantime, COOS travelers take much-needed food, clothing, and medicines each time we visit our friends in Cuba.
