I walked into COOS one rainy November day in 1983 and felt like I had come home. I have been here ever since except for the three years I lived in Brandon and cared for my father through his illness. When I moved back to Jacksonville, I headed straight for COOS – a place of love, spirituality, and light.
I was born in Pennsylvania, lived in Washington, D. C. until I was 11 and then grew up in coastal North Carolina. Now home is Mandarin. I was educated in Illinois and spent most of my local career at Orange Park Medical Center and now work part time at Baptist South.
I have three grown daughters, and eight grand children. Six of them live in the area and keep me both entertained and busy. I like to read, be outside, especially at the beach, and I love making pottery.
I have served in various ministries at COOS from Vestry to Wednesday night cook. I currently serve as the Health and Wellness Coordinator. We have had parish nurses at COOS for several years now and we hope to broaden this role.
COOS is a place of welcoming and joy. I hope you will come and join us.
