Jimmy Hurff, Director of Youth Ministry

My wife Jessica and I have been worshiping at Church of Our Saviour since May 2008. The first service we attended was the Sunday evening service on the weekend of the parish camping trip. Father Mark Atkinson immediately welcomed us and made us feel like we were home.
I can remember riding home that evening and discussing with Jessica what a great decision we had made to go to COOS that night. Today,
COOS is my home and the COOS parish is my family. I am truly thankful for this wonderful blessing God has bestowed upon me.

Jessica and I both grew up in Jacksonville. We attended Terry Parker High School in Arlington – Go Braves! As a kid, I attended Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Arlington and was active in EYC, youth choir and acolytes. After high school, Jessica and I both attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. After graduating college, we chose to return to Jacksonville to be near our family and friends. Like many young adults, I spent a good deal of my time away from the church during my college and early professional years. Through the grace of God, I found my way back into the church community as we were nearing the birth of our first child, Jackson. Based my life experiences and my love for God, I believe I am prepared…I am called…to work with the youth of COOS. I am so excited to be on this journey with you, and welcome the opportunity to further our relationship with Christ together.
