Doris Latour, Lay Ministry Coordinator

In 1999, I was visiting churches in the Jacksonville area, looking for a church home. A friend suggested that I visit Church of Our Saviour in Mandarin. Since that day, it has truly been a church home for us! I have been involved in various ministries here, and continue to work actively with the Worship Committee and many of our church events.

I accepted the position of Lay Ministry Coordinator a couple of years ago. I love helping people become more active in our church. I feel strongly that once you get involved and become passionate about what you are doing, you truly become a part of our church community. We can see that we are all working together to spread God’s light into the world…each volunteer opportunity at Church of Our Saviour is an important part of who we are and what we can do when we work together.

My husband and I live in Orange Park and we have four grown children and six amazing grandchildren. I love organizing; reading, and being outdoors (more so in warm weather than cold weather!). We have had a lot of opportunities to travel, and I have enjoyed seeing some of the places I read about as a child. I grew up in Huntington, West Virginia and still enjoy trips home to visit family and friends.

If you are looking for a church home, I invite you to come to Church of Our Saviour for a visit. You will be welcomed!
